Dear Plymouth Little League Stakeholders:
As we approach the start of the 2026 season, we’d like to reflect on the past year and
share our annual state-of-the-league report, highlighting our achievements, challenges,
and vision for the future. The dedication and hard work of our community have made
this a remarkable year, and we are eager to build on that momentum.

Total Volunteers
By nearly every measure, 2025 was the most successful year in league history. On the
field, we achieved our highest enrollment in over a decade, with 323 players in the
spring, 175 in the summer, and 100 in the fall. All three district teams reached the
district finals. We also completed another successful spring season by partnering with
the Plympton and Carver Little Leagues. Despite having to cancel our major fundraiser,
Opening Day, multiple times, both our revenue and reserves increased. The league
remains in a strong financial position, allowing us to reinvest in our programs and
facilities. This past year, we replaced the clubhouse roof and fence toppers, rebuilt
several pitching mounds, and installed new scoreboards on fields 2 and 3. Looking
ahead, we must continue strengthening our financial standing to support long-term
capital improvements and uphold the standards our community expects.
This year also brought important changes to our leadership. Our long-serving president,
Adam Sheppard, stepped back and we thank him for his passion and dedication to the league. We now have an entirely new executive board
eager to build on past progress. Additionally, our full board comprises 28 dedicated
volunteers for the 2026 season. Between the board and coaches, more than 85
individuals volunteered their time to support the league in some capacity.
Our board’s vision centers on three main priorities: increasing participation, improving
our fields, and strengthening board organization. With Plymouth’s population now
exceeding 70,000, there is significant potential to expand our league and share the love
of baseball even further. While participation has grown since 2013, it has remained
relatively flat over the past five years. To boost enrollment, we’re focusing on greater
community visibility, enhanced marketing efforts, the July 4th Parade, and our inaugural
silent auction on March 7th at the Pinehills.
Enhancing both the playing surfaces and surrounding areas will help transform the
Manomet Recreation Area into a true destination for families and the broader
community. This spring, you’ll notice a newly sided clubhouse, a redesigned snack
shack, improved batting cages, upgraded groundskeeping, and enhanced field
conditions. These improvements mark just the beginning of our long-term field
enhancement plan.
With an organization of our size run entirely by volunteers, structure is crucial for driving
efficiency. This means clearly defining roles, filling committee positions, and seeking
additional help beyond standard board roles. Our incredible volunteers have already
demonstrated their ability to achieve remarkable things. None of our progress would be
possible without their dedication.
2026 promises to be an outstanding year for Plymouth Little League, and it’s only the
beginning.
